Sukiyaki Western Django (Trailer)
The 7th Annual New York Asian Film Festival is scheduled from 6/20-7/6.
If you are in the New York area, films will be playing at the IFC Center and the Japan Society.
A couple notable films will make their US premieres. The one's that have caught my interest are below.
1.) Sukiyaki Western Django (Japan)
The big one is Takashi Miike's Sukiyaki Western Django, Miike's take on a Sergio Leone spaghetti western classic. The trailer is below.
2.) The Butcher (Korea)
Korea's answer to the POV and torture porn wave.
Lots of other films seem also worthwhile.
Check out the rest of the lineup. If all goes according to plan, I'll be in attendance as well and will review these flicks.
